German WWII KS-98 Short Model Dress Bayonet in good condition. No manufacturer marking or serial number visible. 8" blade.
This is the German KS98 Bayonet. These non-combat, dress bayonets were usually privately purchased by the soldier and worn as part of parade and dress uniform wear. They could also be worn off duty with "walking out dress". Senior NCOs and Junior officers might also wear bayonets in lieu of a sword or dagger, in less formal settings. This pattern of bayonet had been in regular use from the 1930s and remained in service until the end of the Second World War, with only minor modifications.
