?? MICE IN THE BARN ??
πŸ€ (other critters or vermin) πŸ€

We can help you solve that problem the eco friendly way!!

We have HEALTHY, SPAYED/NEUTERED, VACCINATED & MICROCHIPPED Barn/Working Cats available for adoption. To those willing to provide a home and provide the basic needs for a barn/working cats to live a healthy & productive life ALL adoption fees will be waived for this Barn Cat Program .

The Steel City Barn Kitties Program is dedicated to saving the lives of feral cats who are impounded at animal control facilities or are at risk of euthanasia in any animal shelter because they are feral or semi feral, meaning not able to be handled like a house cat, so they are not considered to be 'adoptable' and for one reason or another can not be returned to their original habitat. These cats are desperate and in dire need of a new outdoor homes with a new owners/caregivers willing to provide basic daily care
These cats are feral and semi feral and are typically not suitable to become indoor pets and have no desire to be lap cats. These are 'working cats' or 'barn cats' former feral street cats who are used to outdoor life preferring minimal to no human contact & who will happily tend to your mouse, mole, chipmunk or vermin problem for the small cost of a couple of bowls of dry cat food and fresh water daily (and an occasional can of tuna or sardines as bonus pay for the day) and shelter in your barn or garage and because these working cats are spayed/neutered before their arrival you never need to worry about endless litters of kittens.

The term β€œBarn or Working Cat” can be largely used symbolically. While the greatest percentage of cats from barn cat programs are placed with rural farm properties, there are an infinite number of other locations that are considered to be very suitable locations to adopt barn/working cats:

β€’ Warehouses Junk Yards β€’ Auto repair shops β€’ Woodworking shops β€’ Wineries β€’ Stables β€’ Grain handling facilities β€’ Greenhouses / Nurseries / Garden Centers β€’ Churches β€’ Storage facilities ECT....

A huge variety of businesses have rodent control issues and can be appealed to that saving the life of a barn/working cat will not only reduce the rodent problems, but will do so organically, without the use of poisons or inhumane rodent traps. This will be good PR, this will save money on exterminator fees, and is typically embraced by employees who often take on the responsibility of feeding and caring for the new workplace mascots.

We also recommend adopting 2 or more barn/working cats together especially if they originated from the same habitat/colony. They are more likely to stick around after being acclimated. They are less likely to be ambushed by predator and they work better in pairs or trios. They not only have a partner in crime but they can cover more area
