RCA VICTOR SHF-5 (Mark IV) - 1957/58 console
I bought this console 30 years ago and the turntable worked for a while. At a certain point when I would put on a record it would play for a couple seconds and then the tone arm would lift up and go back to the starting postion the way it would do if it was at the end of a record.
I plugged it in for the first time in 25 years and everything powers on and lights up but when the turntable is turned on the platter doesn't rotate. You can hear the mechanics of it engaged as if it's working but it's not. I don't know if this is a belt that needs to be replaced or something else. My knowledge is limited.
This console has also been rigged up to support four external speakers so you can hear it throughout your house.
I'm assuming that this is the Mark IV based on this site:
