Herschede The Finest of American Made Clocks

Offered for sale is a 1979 Herschede Floor Clock. The model type is Thomas Jefferson and it is model #124. Herschede is renowned in the USA and the world as one of the foremost clock makers. The case as well as the movement were made in the USA and the workmanship is outstanding. The chime music is superb because it is produced on 9 bronze alloy tubular bells. The clock will play one of three melodies and will count the hour on a separate bell. Each quarter chime on the 15-minute intervals is different. The three melodies are Westminster, Whittington and Canterbury and can be silenced as shown on the clock dial (face). The Canterbury tune was commissioned by Mr. Herschede early in the 1900’s and can be heard only with Herschede Clocks. The dial as with all Herschede clocks is hand engraved and the moon dial is hand painted. Special alloys are used in the pendulum to assure accurate time keeping. The glass in the case is beveled glass except the front door. The lower front door glass has 9 pieces of leaded glass with gold accent glass on the corner pieces. The upper glass panel on the door is glazed with flat glass to facilitate proper viewing of the clock dial.
This clock is especially unique because the movement has been completely rebuilt recently by a European trained clock maker from Boulder Colorado. Clock movements are machines and will wear like all machines. The clock case is made from furniture grade ash and has no damage to the case. The front door of the case has a key lock and the key is included. The tubular bells are brass finished and show no sign of wear or damage. The drive weights, pendulum and all hardware are in excellent condition as is the rest of the clock. A showing with a see, touch and hear demonstration of the clock can be arraigned by appointment in Berthoud, Colorado. Delivery and set up on the clock by a qualified clock repair person is complimentary within a 35-mile radius of Berthoud, Colorado. Because of the risk involved, no shipping is offered on this unit but it will be available for pick up in Berthoud, Colorado.
Approximate overall dimensions; 26” wide X 17” deep X 87” tall.

WHAT MAKES THIS CLOCK MORE UNIQUE AND EXCEPTIONAL:
The original owner had the movement from this clock rebuilt by a European trained clock maker within the last five years. All wear points were addressed with that rebuild. Many of the Herschede clocks offered for sale today are suffering from power problems due to wear due to normal use. Most are due or overdue for a rebuild. Since that complete rebuild, I have maintained the clock. The clock movement and tubes are in excellent condition and should give many years of reliable, trouble-free service.

Asking price is $6,000. We are accepting reasonable offers
